Tip-a-Cop event raises money for Special Olympics

We're learning new information about the 4 sheriff's deputies who were disciplined for their part in the two wrongful arrests of a Louisiana woman.News4Jax has learned that Sheriff Rick Beseler originally warned the deputies that they could be fired for the mistake. After a review, they were instead suspended without pay, and demoted. Channel 4's Tarik Minor spoke with the attorney representing that Louisiana woman, Ashley Nicole Chiasson.

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – Clay County officers and members of law enforcement will put a different spin on the "to serve and protect" motto next week, and all to benefit Special Olympics.

The tip-a-cop event at the Longhorn Steakhouse restaurant in Fleming Island will raise funds to benefit Special Olympics Florida -- Clay County.

Law enforcement officers will serve restaurant patrons during lunch and dinner shifts, working for tips, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

All proceeds benefit local Special Olympics athletes.
