Woman left toddler alone in hot vehicle at Disney resort, deputies say

Myriam Lubin Cadet arrested on child neglect charge

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman was arrested after a 2-year-old girl was found alone Monday afternoon in a parked vehicle at a Walt Disney World resort, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Walt Disney World security noticed the child around 1 p.m. in a vehicle parked in the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa employee parking lot, WKMG-TV reported.

The windows were down a few inches, the car was not running and the doors were unlocked, according to deputies.

Security officials removed the child, who was alert and conscious, officials said. She was taken to Celebration Hospital in stable condition.

The girl's caregiver, Myriam Lubin Cadet, 37, was charged with child neglect and taken to the Orange County Jail. She later posted bond and was released from jail.

"You don't leave a kid in a car," a Disney tourist said. "I don't care how hot it is. Even with the engine running and the air conditioning on, you shouldn't leave a kid in the car."

No other details, including how long the girl was alone in the vehicle, have been released.
