HOUSTON – A Union Pacific train derailed, then fell off of a bridge overpass Thursday in Houston, according to TxDOT.
Old Katy Road between Interstate 10 and 610 was closed because of the derailment, which happened in the 8000 block of Washington Avenue at 6700 Katy Road around 8:45 a.m.

Houston Fire Department and HazMat crews were on the scene, but said there was no hazardous threat.
Houston police remained on the scene to help with traffic.
