Two Arrested After Orange Park Shooting

32-Year-Old Shot Twice, Expected To Survive

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Clay County Sheriff's deputies arrested two men after a 32-year-old was shot outside an Orange Park night club.

Deputies said Kevelin Holmes, of Jacksonville, was shot twice about 2:30 a.m. Saturday outside Club Christophers on Wells Road in Orange Park. He was taken to Shands Medical Center and underwent surgery for his wounds. Investigators said he's expected to survive.

Deputies said shortly after the shooting, they pulled over that matched witness descriptions from the shooting and arrested the two men inside.

One suspect, Antonio Morales, of Baldwin, was charged with attempted murder.

The second suspect, Lawrence Addison of Jacksonville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Detectives said a firearm and a bullet casing were recovered from under the seat of the suspects' vehicle at the time they were arrested.

The shooting incident remains under investigation by detectives from the Sheriff's Office Robbery-Homicide Unit. Deputies said the motive for the shooting was unclear.

However, a witness told Channel 4 the suspects and victims began fighting inside the club. He said security kicked the men out and the shooting happened shortly after in the parking lot. He said the victim was shot in the stomach.

No other individuals were injured in the shooting.

Both Addison and Morales Saturday afternoon were being held at the Clay County Jail.
