GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida Presidential Search Committee has selected W. Kent Fuchs, provost of Cornell University, and Dr. David W. McLaughlin, provost of New York University as finalists for UF's 12th president.
In a news release, university officials said both finalists meet the committee's criteria developed to ensure that UF's next president is a distinguished academic with demonstrated leadership, fundraising, financial and management abilities.

The UF Board of Trustees will interview the finalists Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m. in the Emerson Alumni Hall Ballroom, University of Florida campus, and will name UF's president-elect. The decision is subject to approval by the Board of Governors.
