JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Students at the University of North Florida received a warning Tuesday after a female student reported that a man she had met on social media and invited over to her dorm room had committed a crime against her.
University officials took time Tuesday to remind students of the dangers of meeting up with strangers they have met on social media in person in non-public areas, especially at home or in a vehicle.

School officials also reminded students to report any suspicious activities to the university police department or call 911.
