Police tracking 'Reese's Cup Bandit'
Cops: Candy crook has stolen more than $400 in peanut butter cups
Authorities in Ohio said they are on the hunt for a brazen candy thief dubbed the "Reese's Cup Bandit," whose sweet tooth may land him in jail.
The Lorain Police Department said the man has swiped more than $400 in Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups from the same local Sunoco gas station over the last few months, WNCX Radio reported.
Officers said the culprit struck again this week, walking away with two more Reese’s candies after slipping past an employee's attempt to grab him.
According to investigators, the man has been seen wearing dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt, and was described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. Police said he also may be getting larger after eating so many peanut butter cups.
The radio station reported that officers are reviewing the store's surveillance video in the hopes of identifying the candy crook, who always strikes after midnight.
Police said they are unsure why he only seems to prefer Reese's cups.
