His loved ones said he went there to visit his girlfriend. And Wednesday night, they stood on the spot where he took his last breath. They prayed, reflected on his life and lit candles at a makeshift memorial.

News4Jax spoke Vanlandingham's mother, who was in tears. She said she can't move forward from this and hopes to get justice for her son.

"He was my baby. I can't even go home, I can't sleep, I can't eat. It's hard, I can't move on," she said. "I just want anybody who knows what happened to come forward. My son didn't deserve to die. Please, he needs justice."

No one has been arrested in this killing and police are still investigating.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
