Volusia County Beach Safety & Ocean Rescue said it was called to a report of a fight and theft around 6:30 p.m. Friday near 27th Avenue.

A woman reported that two other women were stealing her family's beach items and her husband was recording the incident with his phone, officials said.

The video, which was posted to YouTube, shows two women appearing to dismantle a canopy when they're approached by a man.

"Is that yours?" the man asks.

"Yeah, but we don't know how to do it," one of the women responds.

"Oh, do you need some help?" the man asks.

"Do you know how to do it?" the woman says.

"Yeah, this is our stuff," the man replies.

"This is yours?" says the other woman, sounding flabbergasted.

After some small talk, the man says he'll "let it slide," but one of the women says, "Turn the (expletive) camera off."

"No, step away from my (stuff). How about that?" the man says.

The woman then approaches the man after saying she's going to take his phone.

The YouTube video ends with the man laughing and saying, "Seriously?" as the woman approaches him.

Beach patrol officials said the women were not present when officers arrived, and the husband and wife who reported the incident did not want to press charges.

According to officials, the women could have faced charges of grand theft and simple battery.

News4Jax sister station WKMG spoke with the husband of Linda Kelley, the woman in the red swimsuit in the video. He said the incident was a misunderstanding.

According to Kelley, the women thought the family's beach things belonged to their friends and they were asked to pack up the items.

Kelley could not be reached for comment.
