Voters sweep 4 incumbents back into office

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The four incumbent U.S. Representatives for Northeast Florida all easily won re-election to Congress on Tuesday.

Republican Ander Crenshaw defeated his two no-party challengers with 78 percent of the vote. Republican Ted Yoho and Democrat Corrine Brown each finished with 65 percent of the vote, and Republican Ron DeSantis won with 63 percent.

Brown, who was re-elected to a 12th term, defeated Republican challenger Glo Smith. Brown was in Jacksonville for Election Day and made an announcement about her new role in Veterans Affairs.

"I also have made a decision that I am going to be the ranking member and chair of Veterans Affairs," Brown said at her watch party. "I made that decision toward the end of the Congress because we made a commitment to those veterans, and I want to make sure that we keep our word."

Yoho defeated Democratic challenger Marihelen Wheeler (32 percent) and no-party challenger Howard Lawson (3 percent). DeSantis defeated Democratic challenger David Cox (37 percent).
