What you get for $100 at resale stores

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Resale stores are a big hit in our area. From babies to big kids, stores like 'Once Upon A Child' are always stocked. People are constantly bringing in things to sell, which means there's constantly a new selection to choose from. Linda Pippin loves shopping at Once Upon A Child because she can get a lot more for her money when shopping for her grand daughter. "It's helped me a lot," Pippin explained. "I have a nine year old and she is very particular about what she wears. She likes everything to match.

Clothes at Once Upon A Child are separated by size and then by category. For example, if you're looking for a size 8 dress, you'll find them all together on one rack. The clothes here average about four dollars per piece. We wanted to see exactly what you could get for a $100 dollars at one of these stores so we scoured the racks at Once Upon A Child. We were about to get six shirts, two pairs of shorts, two skirts, four pairs of pants and six dresses for $98. The labels were everything from Ralph Lauren to Gymboree.

For kids that outgrow their clothes before you can blink, stores like Once Upon A Child help you save even more because you can sell them what no longer fits. Pippin said, "We keep exchanging them and I keep buying clothes and we've saved a lot of money. I've probably saved a thousand dollars in eight months."

Not everything here is gently worn. "Some of the things are brand new where they still have the tickets on them, just very quality stuff," Pippin said.

There are several Once Upon A Child locations in our area, but they're not the only kids resale store in town. To find the one closest to you, check out the Google search results by clicking here.
