Woman, 42, airlifted with serious injuries after crash

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A 42-year-old woman was airlifted to UF Health Jacksonville with serious injuries Thursday after an accident on State Road 206 in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Lisa Hutson of Hastings was traveling westbound on SR 206 in a gray Ford Ranger pickup truck when the driver of a vehicle exiting from Interstate 95 failed to yield to traffic, the FHP report said.

Daniel Cummings, 50 of Jacksonville, was traveling south on the I-95 exit ramp in a Mercury Grand Marquis and hit the truck, causing it to flip several times. Cummings' car slid across the road and landed in the ditch on the south side of SR 206, the FHP said.

The truck landed on the passenger side, facing east on the shoulder of SR 206. Hutson and her two passengers, 55-year-old Robert Toomajan and 22-year-old Cara Hutson, were not wearing seatbelts, according to the FHP report.

Toomajan and Cara Hutson were transported to Flagler Hospital with minor injuries. Cummings also suffered minor injuries.
