Woman's Boyfriend Charged As Accessory

MACCLENNY, Fla. – A 48-year-old woman was charged Friday with murder and her boyfriend is charged with being an accessory in connection with was described as the "gruesome" stabbing death of a 69-year-old man last weekend.

Family members found Dorsey Bennett's body was found in his Sanderson mobile home Sunday afternoon.

"It was quite, quite brutal, and we were concerned, really, to get on it quickly and solve it because we certainly didn't want our community to be think we had some kind of person out here that would go over the county and do this again," Dobson said.

The investigation by the sheriff's office and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement led them to Melinda Wilson, who was described as a long-time acquaintance of Bennett. She is charged with first-degree murder.

Wilson's boyfriend, Stephen Arnold, 51, was charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Deputies said there was no sign of forced entry to the home and nothing appeared to be taken from the scene. Dobson said that robbery was the apparent motive for the crime.

During a first-appearance hearing Friday afternoon Wilson cried out several times that she didn't do it.
