The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office has charged Claudia B. Dallas with first-degree murder after police found a man stabbed to death in his home.
Family members of Roger A. Henderson initially contacted Alachua County Sheriff's Office concerned that they had not heard from him since the previous evening. They also reported seeing several items thrown across his front yard.
After the initial call, ACSO received information that a family member had entered the home and discovered Mr. Henderson lying on the floor with blood on his clothes. Family members also indicated seeing a woman, later known as Claudia Dallas, walk into a bedroom at the rear of the home once they were inside.
Deputies entered the home and discovered Henderson lying on the floor near the living room couch with multiple stab wounds to his chest and back.
Police continued to search the home for the suspect and found her on a bed in a nearby bedroom.
Patrol Officers issued several commands for the female subject to surrender and show her hands, which were ignored. The woman was taken into custody by the Alachua County Sheriff's Office and K-9 units.
Henderson was pronounced deceased on the scene. An autopsy will be conducted by the Medical Examiner’s office.
Claudia B. Dallas was booked into the Alachua County Jail on charges of first degree murder and resisting an officer.
