Wounded Warrior Project moving to St. Johns County?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Wounded Warrior Project is seeking $500,000 in incentives from St Johns County as the nonprofit organization weighs a possible move from Jacksonville to the World Golf Village or Nocatee.

The St Johns County Commission is considering an application for a grant that would help the organization build a 150,000-square-foot facility.

The nonprofit would move 220 employees to that facility and eventually create another 280 jobs.

The 500 jobs would have an annual payroll of $31 million and represent a $46 million economic impact for St Johns County.

If approved, construction would start in 2016.
