BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A man AWOL from his post at a North Carolina base is wanted on charges that he held his wife hostage, attempted to sexually assault her, then shot at her while he was holding a 5-month-old baby, according to the Glynn County Sheriff's Office.
Police responded to a report of domestic violence at the couple's Altama Avenue apartment at 1 p.m. Monday. The wife said Darryl Green, 20, had barricaded them inside and would not let her leave.
She told police Green had tied her up, begun breaking things in the apartment, then forced her to drink cleaning products and attempted to rape her. After firing a shot, he left the scene in a silver 2006 Chevrolet Impala with North Carolina license No. WPL8904.
Glynn County has obtained warrants for Green's arrest, charging him with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit rape, criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Green is also wanted for being AWOL from the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, N.C.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Green is asked to contact Glynn County Investigator Hank Scott at 912-554-7807.
