Man Stopped After Break-In Faces 8 Charges; More Expected

POSTED: Tuesday, April 29, 2008

A man arrested Monday just minutes after a pre-dawn burglary of a Glynn County business is charged in eight different burglaries and suspected in others across three counties of southeast Georgia.

At 4:47 a.m., Glynn County Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at Thomas Coastal Properties on the Scranton Connector.

Less than 10 minutes later, police conducted a traffic stop of a Jeep Cherokee on Spur 25 at the Glynco Parkway. Officers said they clearly saw a crowbar and Atlanta Braves hat that they believe were used in several recent business burglaries.

Deddrick Shantel Jackson, 20, of Crescent, Ga., was arrested and charged with eight counts of burglaries and entering automobiles.

He is suspected in other burglaries in Brunswick, Richmond Hill, Darien and Hinesville. Additional charges are expected.
