Brunswick Woman Shot While Passenger In Car

Police Do Not Believe Shooting Was Random

POSTED: Friday, August 29, 2008

Glynn County police are investigating after a 43-year-old woman was struck by a bullet early Friday morning when the car she was in was fired upon while driving on Altama Avenue.

Police said the driver reported several shots fired on his 1997 Nissan Maxima as he was driving between Fourth Street and Fairground Road. The victim, a Brunswick woman sitting in the back seat, was struck once in the back. She was transported to Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center.

According to police, the shots were fired from a midsize sedan. Investigators believe the shots were not random, but related to a prior altercation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Investigator Brian Scott at 912-554-7816, Silent Witness at 912-264-1333 or the Gun Bounty Line at 912-554-7847.
