School Bus Driver Faces Sexual Assault Charge

UNION CITY, Ga. -- A 22-year-old Fulton County school bus driver faces a sexual assault charge involving allegations she had an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Police arrested Jacqueline Connally Wednesday evening at her apartment in Union City on charges of misdemeanor sexual assault, but overnight the charge was upgraded to felony sexual battery.
Allison Toller, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County school district, said Connally, in her second year as a driver, was fired after the district was told she'd had a relationship with a male student.
Toller said the student attends Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn. She said another student told authorities about the relationship, which they say took place when she was 21 and he was 16.
“At this time, Connally has been terminated, and the criminal investigation is under way,” Toller told WSB-TV.
Fulton County Jail spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan did not know if Connally had a lawyer but that the issue would be addressed at a court hearing Thursday.
