Waycross Police: Husband Kills Estranged Wife, Stabs Self

POSTED: Thursday, June 2, 2005

A Waycross man is in a Savannah hospital recovering from apparently self-inflicted knife wounds and facing charges of murder in the death of his estranged wife.

Bobby Dewayne Gibson is accused of stabbing 22-year-old Tasha Brown Gibson Tuesday afternoon at a North Nicholls Street apartment.

Brown is also facing aggravated assault charges on the mother of his alleged victim, Yvette Brown, 46, who was struck in the head and reportedly knocked unconscious. She was treated and released.

Waycross police said Gibson will be arrested upon his release from the hospital.

Crime scene technicians from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are assisting Waycross police with the case.
