4 Arrested In Traffic Stop Accused Of Glynn County Robberies, Burglaries

Four men arrested about midnight on Friday when a Glynn County police officer noticed a gun barrel during a traffic stop are now accused in a series of business burglaries and armed robberies.

Glynn robbery/burgary arrestsAccording to police, Officer Stephanie Owens pulled over a green Honda Accord she said ran a red light at the corner of Old Jessup and Community roads. A search of the vehicle turned up a Ruger rifle and a loaded 38-caliber handgun.

After some investigation, the driver, Darnell Jamar West, 22, of Jacksonville, was arrested and charged with two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, failure to obey a traffic control device, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and participation in criminal street -gang activity.

Passengers, Hoang Do, 18, Antoine Fairell, 17, and Mario Antwan Green, 19, all of Brunswick, were also arrested.

Do was charged with two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, six counts of burglary, six counts of entering an auto, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Fairell was charged with two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, party to the crime of burglary and participation in criminal street gang activity.

Green, was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The armed robberies occurred at Quizno's Sandwich Shop on the Scranton Connector on May 1 and at Taco Bell in the 4900 block of New Jesup Highway on April 21.

The burglaries occurred between March 8 and April 5 at location throughout the county.
