Duval To Keep Elections Office Open Until 8
POSTED: Monday, October 6, 2008
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Duval County supervisor of elections offices will remain open until 8 p.m. Monday to accommodate the large number of people registering and updating their voter registration information.
Monday is the deadline for people to register to vote and update their voter information in order to cast a ballot in the Nov. 4 election.
Voters may visit the main voter office at 105 E. Monroe St. or the branch office at 5200-2 Norwood Ave. in the Gateway Mall.
Voters may also register at any public library until the close of business of each library Monday.
Voters can also request an absentee ballot or drop-off an absentee ballot during these extended hours.
Duval County's Supervisor of Election Jerry Hollan has estimated that interest in this year's presidential race could bring a turnout of over 80 percent -- something not seen in Jacksonville for decades.
