What do you see as the top three issues in this race?

  • Government Priorities need to be reset to match community/family priorities placing Education, Infrastructure and Public Safety FIRST. We must cut excessive spending and maximize efficiency in primary programs to meet the future needs of the county.
  • Debt & Spending: St Johns County is at Bonding Capacity until 2030 and has increased debt through expanding Commercial Loans for capital needs. Spending and Budget processes must match community priorities and spending needs to be reduced to provide long term stability.
  • Business Growth: St Johns County has 13% business and 87% residential tax revenue. Business need to be tripled to 40% to provide sustainable revenues. Without this business growth to match massive residential growth St Johns County will be unable to provide even the basic services. We need improved infrastructure, streamlined regulations, and tax incentives that will provide economic advantages to businesses operating within our county, especially in the light industrial and commercial markets.

  • Why should people vote for you?

As a fiscal conservative I will bring cross-sector experience to the role of County Commissioner through my background in military intelligence, small business and law enforcement. I am dedicated to creating a smaller more efficient government focused on supporting individual educational and economic opportunities to become the best place to raise a family and own a business.

What do you hope to be remembered for after you leave office?

Most importantly I wish to be remembered for being the most honest and hard working County Commissioner. I hope to have represented the voice to our families in government and to have changed what we view as success in services, for having stabilized our communities long term financial future, for reigniting citizen's knowledge and involvement in local policy and youths understanding of civic responsibility, and for providing a community where our children grow up with the economic and educational opportunity I was blessed with.
