  • Public Safety: Elected officials have no greater responsibility than to ensure that a we live in a safe city. My first priority will always be to have police and fire rescue operations that ensure our community is a safe one. Unfortunately, Alvin Brown has cut police budgets, taken 147 police officers off our streets and now we see homicide and other violent crime on the rise. We also need to back programs that bring hope and opportunity to young people so that they can recognize their value in our city.
  • Restoring public trust in fiscal management: Recent reports of the city "finding" tens of millions of dollars demonstrates that our current Mayor and his administration do not have a serious approach to managing the dollars paid by taxpayers. In my first 90 days as Mayor, I will conduct an emergency audit that is comprehensive and complete. Then I will report the results to the people and conduct town hall meetings to offer full public accountability and regain their trust.
  • Economic growth and job creation: The best way for a person to see their dreams turn into reality is to have a job. The best way to create new jobs and grow Jacksonville's economy is to get City Hall out of the way. I will streamline the process of starting a business, growing a business, and creating jobs. Economic growth will also expand the tax base and revenue without raising taxes. This will allow us to invest in improvements to Jacksonville's quality of life.
