Reggie Fullwood nears $138K in fundraising

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Seeking to return to the House in a Feb. 17 special election, former Rep. Reggie Fullwood, D-Jacksonville, raised $11,900 from Jan. 3 to Jan. 23, bringing his overall total to $137,980, according to a newly filed finance report.

Fullwood also spent $12,537 during the three-week period and had spent an overall total of $125,159.

Much of that spending came as Fullwood won a Dec. 16 Democratic primary in Duval County's House District 13. He will face Republican Lawrence Jefferson in the Feb. 17 general election. Among Fullwood's contributors this month were companies linked to Walt Disney World, a Realtors political committee and labor unions.

Jefferson's updated finance numbers had not been posted on the state Division of Elections website as of mid-day Friday. Fullwood was expected to run unopposed for re-election in November, but paperwork errors prevented him from qualifying. That led to the need for a special election.
