UNION COUNTY, Fla. -- A 16-year-old Lake Butler girl died Friday night after a traffic crash on state Road 100 earlier in the day.According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ariel B. Croft was not wearing a seat belt when her car veered off the roadway and toward some trees.The car struck a concrete post and a large tree, said the FHP.Croft and the passenger in the car, 20-year-old Adam Atkins, were rushed to Shands-Gainesville Medical Center.Croft was pronounced dead nearly five hours after the crash.Atkins was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was listed in serious condition.
