Fireworks To Light Up Area Skies


A look at scheduled fireworks displays across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia:

DOWNTOWN JACKSONVILLE

Joe Nichols and John Rich headline the music at Metropolitan Park, followed by the 9:45 p.m. SkyBlast fireworks show over the St. Johns River.

JACKSONVILLE BEACH

Liberty Fest at Jax Beach begins at 9:30 p.m. Police reminding beachgoers they could be fined if they shoot off their own fireworks on the beach before the show.

ORANGE PARK

Orange Park again putting on its American Pie Fourth of July celebration at Moosehaven on Park Street. Events start at 1 p.m. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

ST. AUGUSTINE

Fireworks over the Matanzas, concerts, and lots of outdoor activities.

AMELIA ISLAND

Beach Bash at Amelia Island features fireworks over the ocean behind the Ritz Carlton Hotel at 9 p.m.

LAKE CITY

Fireworks display over the lake begin at 9 p.m.

BRUNSWICK

Forth of July festival starts at 7 p.m.. Fireworks over the waters of the East River and Oglethorpe Bay start about 9 p.m. and last 30 minutes.

ST. MARYS

Fourth of July celebration includes a parade at 10 a.m., watermelon-seed spitting contest, classic car show, and fireworks at the riverfront after dark.
