Jaguars Squeeze QB Lemon Out Of Lineup

Jags Make Four Roster Moves

POSTED: Wednesday, June 17, 2009
UPDATED: 1:15 pm EDT June 17, 2009

The Jacksonville Jaguars made four roster moves on Wednesday, including two veterans and two first-year players.

The contract of veteran quarterback Cleo Lemon was terminated, while offensive lineman Drew Miller, defensive end Mkristo Bruce and cornerback Weldon Brown were waived. The Jaguars roster now stands at 80.

Lemon played in one game and threw two passes last season after signing with the Jaguars as a free agent in February of last year. He is entering his sixth season in the NFL including stops in San Diego and Miami.

Bruce is a first year player who joined the Jaguars at the start of the 2008 training camp. He spent most of the 2008 season on the practice squad before joining the active roster Dec. 5 and playing in one game. Miller is a former Florida center who signed as a rookie free agent last year and spent half of the 2008 season on the Jaguars practice squad and half on the active roster. Brown was an undrafted rookie this year who signed with the team following the April draft.

The Jaguars will conclude their Organized Team Activities on Thursday with a final practice session scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
