Tallahassee, FL -- (Sports Network) - Lonnie Pryor scored on a three-yard run with 32 seconds remaining to give the Florida State Seminoles a 29-26 win over the Maryland Terrapins in an ACC showdown at Campbell Stadium.
Pryor led the way for FSU (6-5, 4-4 ACC), turning his two caries into 57 yards and two touchdowns. Jemaine Thomas also helped fuel the Seminoles ground attack, carrying the ball 11 times for 44 yards and a score.
The Terrapins (2-9, 1-6) were paced by Davin Meggett, who carried the ball 13 times for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Jamarr Robinson also chipped in, completing 20-of-27 pass attempts for 214 yards and a touchdown.
The Seminoles took a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter when Thomas busted up the gut for a three-yard touchdown run.
Maryland answered early in the second quarter with a 44-yard field goal by Nick Ferrara.
FSU answered on its next drive when Pryor ripped off a 50-yard touchdown run to give the Seminoles a 14-3 lead.
Ferrara put the Terrapins back on the board late in the second quarter, with a 39-yard field goal.
Maryland continued to claw its way back into the game, when Meggett scored on a nine-yard run in the closing seconds of the first half to make it a 14-13 game at the break.
After a scoreless third quarter the Terrapins finally broke the scoring draught, when Robinson hooked up with Adrian Cannon from 20 yards out for the score. Maryland was unable to convert on a two-point try giving it a 19-14 lead.
FSU responded on its ensuing drive with a 42-yard touchdown run from Bert Reed. E.J. Manuel and Taiwan Easterling connected on a two-point conversion to give the Seminoles a 22-19 lead.
Once again the Terrapins responded, when Meggett rumbled into the end zone from nine-yards out to give his team a 26-22 lead.
The Seminoles answered the bell, on their final drive of the game, with Pryor's three yard run sealing the 29-26 victory.
With the win Florida State becomes bowl eligible, and will move on to play in its 27 straight bowl game.
