8 Dolphins make All-Pioneer team

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Eight members of the Jacksonville football team earned a spot on the first or second team All-Pioneer Football League. Andy Jones, Ulysses Bryant, and Grady Redding were named All-PFL first team and Travion Wallace, T.J. Jenkins, Terrance Bryant, Brandon Behr, and Ryan Giaratano earned second team honors.

Tyler Adrian, Josh Celerin, Tre Davis, Joshua Gilmore, DJ Howard, Dallas Jackson, Matthew Passeggiata, Malik Slater, Damien Strange, Maroa White, and Logan Williamson were named honorable mention.

Jones, a senior wide receiver, was second in the conference in receiving touchdowns (8) and receiving yards (890). He was third with 6.0 receptions per game, and sixth with 14.83 yards-per-catch. Jones finished his Jacksonville career second in receptions (141) and receiving yards (2,105).

Nease graduate Ulysses Bryant was third in the PFL with 763 rushing yards, 69.4 rushing yards per game, and 104.36 all-purpose yards per game. His 4.89 yards-per-carry was good for fifth in the conference. Bryant had four rushing scores and caught 38 passes, third-most on the team, for 385 yards and three touchdowns.

Bryant was second team All-PFL in 2014 and will return for his senior season looking to climb the Dolphin record books. Bryant is second all-time in both rushing (2,478) and all-purpose yards (3,331) to Rudell Small, sixth in points scored (146), and fourth in touchdowns (23).

Redding, a linebacker who has earned first team distinction in consecutive seasons, was a wrecking ball that ranked fourth in the PFL with 5.8 solo tackles-per-game and 10 total tackles-per-game. The junior from Cocoa, Fla., led Jacksonville in stops in back-to-back seasons with 58 tackles and 42 assisted tackles. He tallied 7.5 tackles-for-a-loss, 0.5 sacks, and five pass breakups.
