Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Adam Eaton will miss the next 6-8 weeks with a UCL sprain in his left elbow, the team announced Friday.
The left-handed Eaton, 24, was injured while sliding into third base on Monday.
Eaton was expected to be the Diamondbacks' leadoff hitter this season.
He went 23 for 59 (.390) with two homers and three steals in spring training.
Eaton his .252 with two homers in 22 games last season.
