GAINESVILLE, Fla. -

The University of Florida will open its 2012 football season hosting Bowling Green and end the year playing FSU. The schedule, released by on Wednesday, has the Gators facing the facing its two, new SEC rivals for the first time: Texas A&M on the road and Missouri in the Swamp.

UF's second game will be in College Station, Texas.  UF has played the Aggies twice before: in 1962 and in the Sun Bowl in 1977.

Over the next six weeks the Gators will face Tennessee, Kentucky, LSU, South Carolina and Georgia.

The first weekend of November Florida will host Missouri -- a team they played only once: the 1996 Sugar Bowl.
