Matt Lancaster ran for a 1-yard touchdown with 2 seconds left, capping a 95-yard drive and giving Butler its seventh straight win, 19-16 over Jacksonville on Saturday.
Lancaster, who also threw for 260 yards and found Dylan Johnson and Zach Wolfe for scores, completed five passes for 61 yards after a punt pinned the Bulldogs (8-2, 7-0 Pioneer League) at their own 5, trailing 16-13 with 2:55 left. Jacksonville's second pass-interference penalty on the drive gave Butler a first down at the Jacksonville 2.
Three plays later, the Bulldogs went for the win on fourth down and Lancaster got the job done.
With the victory, Butler moved 1½ games ahead of Drake, which lost 28-13 to Dayton. The Bulldogs can clinch the league title by beating Drake next Saturday.
Johnnie Hicks ran for a 3-yard score and Dylan Lynch kicked three field goals for the Dolphins (6-3, 4-2).
