The Jacksonville Jaguars will be without starting outside linebacker Daryl Smith for the season opener at Minnesota.
Coach Mike Mularkey ruled Smith out Friday, saying he had a setback with his groin injury earlier in the week.
The Jaguars also likely will be without cornerback Derek Cox. He is doubtful for Sunday's game.
Receiver Justin Blackmon (ankle) and guard Uche Nwaneri (ankle) practiced for the second consecutive day and are probable.
With Smith sidelined, the Jaguars are expected to start Kyle Bosworth against the Vikings.
Mularkey says Bosworth "has gotten a lot of work in the preseason games. We feel confident about him going in there."

Jaguars LB Daryl Smith tries to keep in front of his man during a drill Thursday morning. Coach Mularkey said that he was shocked to see how well his team adapted to the sudden change in the schedule. He added that this was a good trial run in case they have to do this again later in the season.
