Gase will probably reject an offer from the Browns because he wants to work with quarterback Peyton Manning for at least another season. Gase has been with the Broncos since 2009. This is his first season as offensive coordinator.

--- The Detroit Lions hired Ron Prince as assistant head coach/tight ends coach. Contract terms were not disclosed by the team.

Prince served as Rutgers' offensive coordinators in 2013. He has 22 years of coaching experience, including three at the NFL level.

He previously held assistant offensive line positions with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2012) and Indianapolis Colts (2010-11).

His 19 years of coaching at the collegiate level included head coach at Kansas State (2006-08) and offensive coordinator at Virginia (2001-05, 2009).

--- The Cincinnati Bengals hired Matt Burke as linebackers coach, the team announced.

Burke spent the previous five seasons on the Detroit Lions' coaching staff and has 10 years of NFL experience overall.

Burke replaces Paul Guenther, who was promoted defensive coordinator earlier in the week. Burke, 37, helped coach a Lions defense that ranked sixth in the NFL against the run in 2013.

Burke spent five seasons on the Tennessee Titans' coaching staff, working as an administrative assistant and defensive assistant. He also coached three seasons at the collegiate level.
