The Philadelphia Flyers followed a listless performance on Saturday with a spirited team meeting. Whether the words will carry any weight will be decided on Sunday when Philadelphia attempts to snap a three-game losing skid against the visiting Buffalo Sabres. Ilya Bryzgalov rebounded after yielding three goals in a span of 2 minutes, 18 seconds to finish with 25 saves in the Flyers' 3-0 loss to Boston.
Buffalo has at least recorded a pair of points during its three-game losing skid (0-1-2). Thomas Vanek showed signs of overcoming his recent struggles by snapping his six-game goalless drought in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to New Jersey. The Austrian certainly busted out the last time he saw Philadelphia, collecting a career-high five points (two goals, three assists) in the Sabres' 5-2 win on Jan. 20.

ABOUT THE SABRES (9-13-3): Ryan Miller is winless in his last three appearances, but turned aside 27 shots in the previous meeting against Philadelphia. Defenseman Andrej Sekera, who was already ruled out of Sunday's game, was active in Saturday's practice before being removed as the team prepared for what interim coach Ron Rolston termed "battle situations." Fellow blue-liner Adam Pardy joined Mike Weber on a defensive pairing during Saturday's practice.
ABOUT THE FLYERS (11-14-1): Coach Peter Laviolette didn't mince words after watching his team go through the motions on Saturday afternoon. "They scored a goal and we never recovered. We never responded to it," he said. "We were looking for a response from last game and that wasn't the response we were looking for." Philadelphia watched a three-goal first-period lead evaporate to Keystone State rival Pittsburgh on Thursday. Captain Claude Giroux was held off the scoresheet for the second time in four contests after posting multiple-point games in six of his previous eight outings.
1. Buffalo captain Jason Pominville, who notched three assists in the team's previous meeting, has recorded 27 points in as many career games versus the Flyers.
2. Philadelphia recalled G Michael Leighton from Adirondack of the American Hockey League and sent veteran G Brian Boucher to the Phantoms.
3. Vanek has collected 13 of his 26 career points in the last seven meetings versus the Flyers.
PREDICTION: Sabres 4, Flyers 2
