The NFL suspended Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington for the entire season, according to the Fox Sports radio affiliate in Phoenix.
Washington was sentenced to one year of supervised probation by the Maricopa County Superior Court after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in March.
Washington assaulted a former girlfriend. He previously pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and trespassing charges.
According to a police report, Washington grabbed the mother of his daughter by her throat and shoved her to the ground during an altercation in 2013. She claimed Washington broke her collarbone.
Washington, a second-round draft choice of the Cardinals out of TCU in 2010, had 75 tackles, 11 pass breakups, three sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery in 12 games last season.
