The Indiana Pacers could be without their starting power forward tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but their former starting small forward has been cleared to resume on-court activities. Power forward David West suffered a lower back sprain in the second half of Saturday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. West said he got twisted up with a 76ers’ player then felt a tweak in his back after getting fouled several plays later. “I felt the pain after the game, I didn’t think it was going to be anything, but after the plane ride (to Cleveland) and the hotel, it just blew up,” West said. Coach Frank Vogel said Tyler Hansbrough will start with Jeff Pendergraph backing him up if West doesn’t play. Small forward Danny Granger, out all but five games this season because of an ongoing left knee problem, has been cleared to resume practicing. Granger won’t play tonight against the Cavaliers or Tuesday against the Orlando Magic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Vogel said Granger likely won’t play against the Milwaukee Bucks or Chicago Bulls this weekend, either.
