Anchor Away putters at One Spark

One local inventor has found a way to conform with the new U.S.G.A. putter rule.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – They say that necessity is the mother of invention and nobody knows that more than Jacksonville's Bob Gedeon.

The owner and inventor of Anchor Away Putters came up with the idea of a counterbalance in the shaft of a putter to combat the difficulties that he was having on the golf course.

"Having been a golfer for over 60 years, I all of the sudden got the 'yips'" Gedeon said.  "I woke up at three o'clock in the morning with an idea about a way to putt that is different."

Five patents later, Gedeon has the Anchor Away Putter that features a removable 50-1000 gram weight in the shaft of the putter.  With the U.S.G.A. new rule that bans anchoring a putter to your body, Gedeon's invention conforms with that.

"This putter, with the design of the shaft allows you to anchor the putter away from your body.  The flat sides and U.S.G.A. conforming allows for multiple hand positions and easy alignment."
