EWC baseball qualifies for A.I.I. tournament

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On the heels of a school record 18-game win streak the Edward Waters baseball team has qualified for the 2016 Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) postseason conference baseball tournament. The Tigers enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed with a record of 31-11.

EWC will open tournament play on Saturday, May 7 against Texas A&M-Texarkana. The format for the tournament, which runs from May 7-10, is double-elimination and the games will be held on the campus of Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia

The tournament champion, runner-up, and third place team will be invited to the 2016 NAIA Regional Baseball Tournament. The Tigers are looking to advance to that tournament for the first time since 2011.
