Bolles boys hoops beats Kenny, stays unbeaten

The Bulldogs finish the regular season at 24-0.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It took four minutes of overtime, but the Bolles Bulldogs beat Bishop Kenny 80-77 Friday night to finish the regular season unbeaten.

On senior night, Kenny started all of their seniors for the 1st quarter and jumped out to a 10-point lead at one point.  However, Bolles' Jeremiah Theus hit a jumper at the end of the 1st half to give the Bulldogs a 33-30 lead at the half.

They would lead 68-66 with 3 seconds to play when the Bulldogs' DeShawn Ruffin missed the second of two free throws.  Shaggy Allmond got the rebound and was fouled with 0.8 seconds to play.  After Allmond sank both free throws, the game went to overtime.

In the extra period, Bolles hit 8-10 free throws.  Combine that with great defense from 6'8" sophomore Collin Smith, and the Bulldogs came out on top 80-77 and kept their undefeated season alive.

Next up for the Bulldogs is the district tournament next week.
