Many of the training camp practices will be open to the public, but it will be hot on the practice fields for both players and fans.

There was a lot of excitement from the players Tuesday as they reported to EverBank Field for day one of training camp Tuesday.

Many of the players appeared ready for the heat, bringing drinks with them as they showed up.

The Jaguars booster club greeted players as they arrived and are excited about Thursday's first session on the field, open to season ticket holders. Starting Friday, practices will be open to everyone July 29-31, Aug. 2-4 and Aug. 8-9. Each person can register for up to four tickets for each practice.

These practices are free to attend, but people must register for a ticket on the Jaguars website to get in.

Jaguars Booster Club President Dennis Cooke has a few tips for beating the heat.

"Go to the shade every once in a while. Get yourself cool, as cool as you can," Cooke said. "Drink a lot of water. The sweet drinks and stuff like that don't help that much, the water helps the most. And wear cool, comfortable clothes."

Fans are allowed to bring water to the practices.

Practices are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. with gates opening at 9:30 a.m., but the dates and times are subject to change.

One of the best ways people can make sure to get a spot in the shade is to get to the stadium early.

There is usually a line waiting at the gates more than an hour before they open.

"With the number of fans though, and being as close as they are, it's going to be uncomfortable unfortunately," Cooke said. "I think that starting early in the morning and quitting by noon helps out a lot with the players and helps for the fans also."

Not only are practices free to attend, parking at the stadium is also free.
