Bishop Kenny headed to Final Four

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the first time since 2005 the Bishop Kenny boys' soccer team has reached the Class 2A Semifinals. I found something very interesting when I arrived at  their campus on Monday afternoon.

When you drive up to athletic fields there's a big sign with all of the State Champions in school history. They had everything from cross country boys to girls basketball, but the Crusaders title from the 1973 soccer team was nowhere to be found.

The 2016 team is two wins away from carving out some space on that board for themselves. They will face Tampa Catholic on Tuesday at 4 p.m. This is a team with only three seniors and they've really grown together throughout this season. But there was one moment where they realized that they were on the verge of doing something special.

"After we beat Bolles and Episcopal it felt like it was set up for us," said junior striker Mason Martin. Beating them by two or three goals gave us a lot of confidence and we felt like we have a really good shot now."
