JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Episcopal School of Jacksonville announced Wednesday that Mark Brunell, the school's varsity football coach and program director, has accepted an opportunity with ESPN as an analyst, in addition to his ongoing responsibilities at the school.
His commitment with ESPN would not begin until after the end of high school football season, the school said.

"This is a great opportunity for Coach Brunell, and we are excited to support him in this endeavor," said Episcopal's Athletic Director, Andy Kidd. "We know his priority is Episcopal, our football team, and our students, and we appreciate his commitment. We're greatly looking forward to our first season with him and are excited for Friday's preseason game against Paxon."
Brunell's commitment to ESPN will be one day a week.
"I discussed this great opportunity in depth with the Episcopal administration before accepting because I wanted to assure them that my players and ESJ take precedence," Brunell said. "I am grateful for the support from my coaching staff, the administration, and the Episcopal community. My responsibilities with ESPN, although not finalized, will not begin until after the football season is complete. I look forward to working with ESPN and also continuing to be a part of the Episcopal community."
