JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Georgia Bulldogs and Nebraska Cornhuskers will meet in a bowl for the second consecutive year in the Gator Bowl, and that's fine with the 'Dogs.
Georgia running back Todd Gurley says it's not unusual to play teams every year, "We play Auburn two years in a row, we play Georgia Tech two years in a row. It's just another game."
Georgia head coach Mark Richt agrees with Gurley.
"Every year we play the same teams over and over in the eastern division, so it's not unusual," Richt said. "There is absolutely some familiarity now with each other. That game film from a year ago is precious. Now we've got some film of them versus us and us versus them."
The Gator Bowl will also be a springboard for spring practice and an audition for backup quarterback Huston Mason. Georgia starting QB Aaron Murray tore his ACL November 23 in the Kentucky game.
Mason started in the season finale versus Georgia Tech.
"I expect game two to be more comfortable than game one," Mason said. "I'm definitely going to feel more comfortable, more accustomed to the routine of being the starter."
Georgia beat Nebraska 45-31 last year in the Capital One Bowl.
