Clemson tops Ohio State 40-35 in Orange Bowl

Tajh Boyd accounts for 6 total touchdowns in victory

MIAMI – Tajh Boyd threw for five touchdowns and ran for another as Clemson escaped Ohio State 40-35 in the Discover Orange Bowl.

With Clemson trailing 35-33 in the fourth quarter, Boyd found Stanton Seckinger for the 5-yard go-ahead touchdown. The score capped off a 13 play, 75 yard drive. Ohio State had a chance late in the game, but Stephone Anthony intercepted Braxton Miller with 1:18 to play.

Boyd finished the night with 378 yards and five touchdowns along with 127 yards and a touchdown on the ground as Clemson won its first Orange Bowl in 32 years.

Miller threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort. It was Urban Meyer's first loss in five trips to the Bowl Championship Series.
