JACKSONVILLE - The River City Rumble lived up to its name as UNF overcame a seven point halftime deficit in an 86-82 win over cross-town rival, JU.
Travis Wallace led the Ospreys with 27 points to go along with 19 rebounds. Jarvis Haywood scored a game-high 29 points for the Dolphins in a losing effort. Haywood poured in 20 points in the first half including 4-4 from 3-point range as JU led 50-43 at the half.
But the second half belonged to the Ospreys. UNF scored six quick points to cut the deficit to one and took the lead on a Wallace layup with 10:59 to play in the game. A Keith McDougald three-pointer with twenty seconds left cut the JU deficit to three. But Charles McRoy hit three of four free throws in the final fifteen seconds to seal the win.
North Florida improved to 5-2 in A-Sun play and 11-9 on the season. JU dropped to 4-3 in conference play and 8-10 on the year.
