Treon Harris to transfer from UF

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Treon Harris will transfer from the University of Florida, according to the Florida Gators.

It was reported in February that Harris would be moving from quarterback to wide receiver next season. The Gators confirmed Monday that Harris has been granted a release from his scholarship and will transfer.

It is unknown at this time where he will transfer to.

After splitting time with Will Grier to start the season, Harris eventually became the full-time starter after Grier’s suspension and started in nine games. The Gators' offense wasn’t the same with Harris under center.

Harris completed just 51 percent of his passes and threw for more than 200 yards just three times.

The Gators quarterback competition will consist of transfers Austin Appleby and Luke Del Rio and freshmen Feleipe Franks and Kyle Trask.
