Colts expect Luck to miss a month

Indianapolis currently leads the AFC South with a 4-5 record

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On Tuesday we learned that Colts quarterback Andrew Luck would miss the next two to six weeks after suffering a lacerated kidney and a partially torn abdominal in Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos.

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen was dealt a similar injury and was placed on the season ending injured reserve list. No two injuries are alike but the two week return for Luck, on the low end of that initial projection, seemed ambitious at best.

According to a report by ESPN the Colts expect Luck to miss at least a month.

The Colts are on a bye this weekend and that timetable would have Luck returning to action on Dec. 13 when the Colts play the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

Matt Hasselbeck won both of this starts earlier this season when Luck was out due to a shoulder injury. The 40-year-old will now be the starter until Luck is healthy enough to return. The Colts have carried just two quarterbacks on the active roster and are going to great lengths to find a backup for Hasselbeck.

Indianapolis currently leads the AFC South with a 4-5 record.
