Bucs blank Stingrays in 'Battle of the Coasts'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Buccaneers got it started in the 1st quarter. Quarterback Deandre Johnson hit #2 for the touchdown to make it 7-0.

But Johnson wasn't finished. A little bit later he found #5 Tyron Woods, who made a nice over the shoulder grab. That set up a touchdown by #6 Tristan Peyton and it was 14-0 Buccaneers.

Still in the first half, the Stingrays' Ryan McFarlin tried to change the play, but he got crossed up with the center over the snap. He was forced to fall on the ball in the endzone, which meant a safety for First Coast. They led 19-0 at the half.

In the second half, First Coast stays on the ground. #1 Jaha McCray breaks through the middle and dives for the end zone, but officials said he was out at the 1 yard line.

Then on the very next play, #21 Ashton Hall scored the final touchdown for the Buccaneers. Final score: 26-0.

Buccaneers' head coach Marty Lee said it was a big win for First Coast on the road.

"Our defense played extremely well. We heard a lot of flak the past couple of weeks and we felt we've got to get on track if we want to win the district. We've got some tough games ahead."
